OMilitary officials did not provide further details about the ballistic missile, saying only that an analysis was underway, according to Yonhap.
North Korea’s official KCNA news agency did not immediately confirm the matter.
This comes just days after North Korea stated that it successfully tested a missile with multiple warheads, with South Korea guaranteeing, in turn, that the projectile exploded during the flight.
Relations between the two Koreas are currently at their lowest point in years, with Pyongyang stepping up weapons tests while sending trash-filled balloons to the South in retaliation for Korea sending propaganda against the North Korean regime from the South.
