Coco Brown, a 14-year-old British girl, experienced a traumatic incident during her first attempt at dyeing her hair. She was at the hairdresser’s getting the procedure done on the occasion of her birthday, but it turned into a nightmare. He ended up with third-degree burns on his scalp.

Coco is a fan of Taylor Swift and convinced her mother to take her to the salon for highlights as an early birthday present.

“She wanted to look like her idol and was very excited,” the young woman’s mother told the English newspaper The Sun.

The scalp could not withstand the chemicals in the dye.

During the bleaching process, Coco began to feel a slight itching, which she initially dismissed.

However, the situation quickly worsened when his head began to smoke.

The hairdresser reacted quickly, removing the product and washing her hair, at which point she began to notice clumps of hair falling out and a red scalp.

This is what the doctors said about the burns

At first, both Coco and her mother thought it was a simple allergic reaction.

But five days later, still experiencing discomfort, they visited their family doctor, who confirmed the severity of the injury: Coco had suffered third-degree burns to her scalp.

The young woman had to undergo emergency surgery to perform a skin graft and now faces a long recovery process.

“I feel terrible for allowing her to dye her hair. I hope our experience will serve to warn others about the risks and importance of doing a strand test before any chemical treatment on the hair.” commented Coco’s mother.

“As doctors treated the wound, the skin on the scalp fell off, revealing a burn the size of an orange. It was a horrible experience,” he concluded.
