An easy main dish to make is roast chicken in pieces. Well seasoned, it’s delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 medium sized chicken cut into pieces
- ½ cup (tea) of oil
- ½ cup (tea) of butter or margarine
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- Salt to taste
- Butter for greasing
Preparation Mode
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Arrange the chicken pieces in the baking dish, skin side down.
- Separately, heat a pan with the butter, oil, garlic clove, onion, ginger, paprika, sugar, lemon juice and salt.
- Let it cook until the butter is melted.
- Brush the butter mixture over the chicken pieces.
- Bake at 170ºC and every 15 minutes turn the chicken pieces and baste them again with the butter mixture.
- Roast until larger pieces are tender (approximately 45 minutes).
Mom’s Tips
The amount of onion = ¼ cup (tea)
Side dish = white rice.
Yields approximately 4 servings.
