The National Electoral Council of Venezuela published this Friday, August 2, 2024, a second bulletin of the results in that country. With the 96.87% of the minutes transmitted, the CNE, without showing any proof of the figures, ratified Nicolás Maduro as the winner of the presidential elections on Sunday, July 28.

How did the voting in Venezuela turn out, according to the CNE?

  • Nicolás Maduro: 6,408,844 votes, for 51.95%.
  • Edmundo González: 5,326,104 votes, representing 43.18%.

What are the results of the opposition with 81.7% of the total votes?

  • Edmundo González: 7,156,462 votes, which would be 67%.
  • Nicolás Maduro: 3,241,461 votes, which would be 30%.

How to know if the minutes revealed by the opposition are authentic?

The records have the elements that make them verifiable and authentic. First is the “hash”, which is a unique alphanumeric code, like the one a cash register displays on a receipt.

Then, there are the digital signatures of the members of the table, the QR code that matches the information printed in the minutes and a numerical code called “digital signature of the minutes.”
