How about a different and tastier meatball?
Ingredients
- ½ kg of prime ground beef
- 250 grams of ground pork
- ¾ cup (tea) of crumbled black bread
- ½ cup (tea) of milk
- ½ cup (tea) of chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons dill seeds (optional)
- Black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1 ovo
- ¼ cup (tea) of wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- ¾ cup (tea) sour cream
Preparation Mode
- Mix the two types of meat, bread, egg, onion, dill, milk, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Remove from the refrigerator and make into balls.
- In a frying pan with oil, brown the dumplings for approximately 20 minutes.
- Drain the fat from the pan, reserving 1 tablespoon.
- Pour the reserved fat back into the pan.
- If necessary, add more oil to make a tablespoon.
- Add the wheat flour, paprika, salt and pepper to taste to the fat in the frying pan and mix well.
- Add 2 cups (tea) of water little by little, without stopping stirring, until it starts to boil.
- Let it boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Add the dumplings and heat well.
- Add the sour cream, stirring until you get a smooth sauce.
- Serve it hot.
Mom’s Tips
Sour cream: 1 cup of fresh cream, ¼ teaspoon of salt and the juice of ½ Tahiti lemon. Place the cream and lemon juice in a bowl and beat the mixture with a wire whisk until it is slightly firm (before the whipped cream stage). Add the salt and mix a little more. Do not use a mixer so that you do not lose the consistency.
Serve the meatballs as a main dish accompanied by rice.
Yields approximately 8 servings.
