The poll offers one of the first snapshots of voting intentions since Harris won the party’s nomination after President Joe Biden dropped out.
Along with her running mate for vice president, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democrat began a tour this week of several key states, including the three in which, according to the poll, she is ahead of Trump.
Harris will also travel today to Arizona, another hotly contested territory in the election, where Biden won in 2020 by a narrow margin of votes.
It is the Democrat’s fourth visit to the state this year and the first since President Biden ended his re-election campaign and endorsed her aspirations.
Harris, the first Black woman to run for president, has built a record-breaking candidacy since Biden dropped out of the race in mid-July.
The record fundraising figures – $20 million, equivalent to 18.3 million euros, in the last 24 hours, according to campaign sources – and recent polls in which he managed to close the gap with Trump have renewed the party’s energy for the hotly contested election race on November 5.
