According to 11 Alive, on July 29, 2024, De’Lon Jackson was finishing up practice with his high school football team when he received a call from his mother alerting him that he had been in a car accident.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser started to help the family through this difficult time, De’Lon had been playing sports since he was 5 years old. The young man admitted that his dream was to be an NFL player, however, he is grateful that he and his mother are alive.
“I love her to death. I don’t know what I would do without her. “I don’t know what I would do. I’m glad I’m here. I’m glad to be here,” said Jackson, who will soon begin a long rehabilitation process.
