“NAs far as the personal attacks, I’m very angry at her for what she’s done to the country. I’m very angry at her for using the justice system as a weapon against me and other people, very angry at her. I think I’m entitled to personal attacks,” Trump said.
The Republican candidate for the November presidential election was speaking at a press conference from his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he tried to transfer Biden’s unpopular economic record to Harris.
“I don’t have much respect for her intelligence and I think she’ll make a terrible president,” Trump added.
The former president also took issue with Democrats labeling him and his vice presidential nominee, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, as “outsiders.”
Trump stood flanked by popular grocery items including instant coffee, sugary breakfast cereals and candy, laid out on tables as he highlighted the cost of everything from food to car insurance and housing. The signs showed rising prices for basic foods.
At one point, as Trump was talking about the 2020 election he lost, he noticed a box of cereal. “I haven’t seen Cheerios in a long time,” he said. “I’m going to take them back to my house,” he said.
As he turned to leave, the Republican candidate did not answer questions about when he last shopped.
The press conference came a day after the Labor Department announced that annual inflation hit its lowest level in more than three years in July, the latest sign that the worst price increase in four decades is fading.
But consumers are still feeling the pinch from higher prices, something the Trump campaign is banking on to motivate voters in the fall.
