This salad, much appreciated around the world, cannot be left out of your menu!
Ingredients
- 2 bunches of iceberg lettuce
- 1 can of cream without whey
- 2 cups (tea) of mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 clove of grated garlic
- 3 anchovy fillets
- 6 slices of crustless white bread, cut into small cubes
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- ½ tablespoon of oregano
- Black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup (tea) of grated parmesan cheese
Preparation Mode
- Clean the lettuce, tear the leaves with your hands, place in a salad bowl and store in the refrigerator.
- In a heated frying pan over medium heat, place the bread and drizzle with half of the olive oil and oregano.
- Without stopping stirring, fry until golden, remove and set aside.
- In a bowl, crush the anchovy with the garlic, season with pepper and salt and mix until you get a paste.
- Mix the mayonnaise and sour cream.
- Add the remaining olive oil, lemon juice and beat with an egg beater or a simple fork.
- Season with salt and pepper and spread over the lettuce.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and croutons.
- Serve.
Mom’s Tips
There are many versions of Caesar Salad. It can be enjoyed with other ingredients such as chicken, bacon, shrimp, etc.
Anchovies can be replaced with tuna.
Yields approximately 4 servings.
Croutons are golden, crispy cubes of bread (described in the preparation method).
