Now one of the five rectors of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela, and who belongs to the opposition, issued a statement denouncing serious lack of transparency in the election process.

To analyze the situation, Pablo Quintero, a political scientist and political consultant who has been observing the situation in Venezuela, was in the Press Room.

According to the expert, “there was a lot of expectation within the opposition regarding the announcement after almost a month of the rector’s absence. Unfortunately, these were not the statements that the opposition was expecting. While this is happening with the rector (Juan Carlos) Delpino, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has already summoned the candidate Edmundo González Urrutia for the second time to appear and present evidence regarding what he is being accused of.”

Pablo Quintero said that “the rector was not unknown to the political parties, just like the rector who has not yet spoken out, Mrs. Aimé Nogal. What is expected is some kind of statement. The absence (of the rector Juan Carlos Delpino) is the result of protecting his life, that of his family, and it is something absolutely normal.”
