The terrible discovery occurred in the municipality of Sarroch, on the island of Sardinia, Italy.
According to investigations, the 78-year-old woman died in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The elderly woman’s son, a 54-year-old man, will have to face charges for the crime of aggravated fraud against the State.
Who was the elderly woman found in a freezer?
The deceased woman was identified as Rosanna Pilloni. Her son, Sandro Mallus, the alleged offender, lived with his mother in a house under precarious conditions. Authorities revealed that the man hid his mother’s body in the freezer as soon as she died, in order to continue collecting her pension.
The neighbors in the area were the ones who alerted the authorities about the elderly woman’s absence for so long, so the police raided the house and found the body in the appliance.
After the elderly woman’s lifeless body was found, her son was unable to tell the police exactly when she had died, but he mentioned that it was during the time of Covid-19, in 2020.
According to the media 20 Minutesalthough investigators believe the elderly woman died of natural causes, The body was sent for tests to determine if she was murdered by the person who collected her pension for four years.
