The one who created such a surprise is none other than MINIMAL. A Taiwanese ice cream parlor that immediately won the hearts of the jury members. An address that “dazzles both in terms of taste and visuals thanks to sought-after combinations of flavors and textures. Guests can enjoy a seven-course menu that changes with the seasons and reveals succulent granitas and ice creams prepared with care and elegance”as reported in a press release by Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides.
A unique menu and a polished presentation that make this ice cream parlor the first in the world to be awarded a star. A great feat for this establishment that has only been open for 3 years.
Minimal is not the first slightly unusual establishment to be rewarded by the Guide. A small Mexican restaurant of barely 3 square meters, without chairs or tables, won its first star this year. Proof that it is not always the price that makes the quality, it is its €4 menu that made the difference. As the guide points out: “This taqueria may be bare, with just enough space for a handful of customers to stand at the counter, but its creation, the Gaonera taco, is exceptional”. If you are traveling to Mexico City soon, we strongly advise you to go and taste for yourself the restaurants that are not quite like the others.
