The United States Treasury Department announced sanctions against five members of the Gulf Clan, involved in drug trafficking and for promoting the irregular migration of thousands of people through the Darien Gap to the USA

Those sanctioned are: José Miguel Demora Hernández, alias Chirimoya, who is considered the financial head of the Clan del Golfo; Alexander Celis Durango, alias Bayron, a drug trafficker who has already been captured, but whose extradition to the United States is still pending; José Gonzalo Sánchez Sánchez, alias Gonzalito, who is considered the second in command of that criminal organization; José Emilson Córdoba Quinto, alias Negro Perea, and Wilder de Jesús Alcaraz Morales, alias El Indio; these last two are responsible for the irregular migration of people through the Darién Gap to the United States.

What does it mean that they have been included in the Clinton List?

These five individuals were included in the so-called Clinton List. This means that their properties in the United States, or any property of theirs under US jurisdiction, are immediately blocked.
