Regarding this, President Petro said that this Thursday he communicated with the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, “to ensure that Diego Marín, alias Pitufo, is brought to Colombian justice.”
The head of state assured that “major smuggling has been the hinge between great political and state powers and drug trafficking, for decades, ruining the national industry.”
The Colombian authorities are demanding Marín for smuggling, bribery and belonging to a criminal organization.
The Colombian leader concluded his writing by saying: “It is good that these relationships of great corruption are revealed in their own name.”
Petro had already requested the extradition of alias Smurf
Petro, last June, requested that Spain extradite Marín so that he “submit to justice” and detail “his 38-year relationship with political power in Colombia.”

The decision of the Spanish judge was criticized by Petro, who recalled that, despite speaking with Sánchez and “there being an extradition treaty that we have fully complied with, the Spanish justice system has released the main smuggler and money launderer of drug trafficking in Colombia.” .
Petro reinforced by saying that he has asked Spain to extradite Marín because “he wants vacations in Spain.” and enjoy his fortune, because he is a Spanish citizen too.
Likewise, the Colombian president said that what was appropriate was an investigation by the Police and the DEA, because Marín “built a network of links, within the State, the ports, the DIAN, the Customs, the Police Fiscal and Customs (Polfa) and others… “The gentleman’s method was to infiltrate all presidential campaigns.”
