Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has called on citizens to take to the streets on Saturday, September 28, in commemoration of the elections that were held in their country on July 28. Through her X account, Machado urged Venezuelans to demonstrate and reactivate what she calls the “winning structure.”

In his publication, Machado emphasized: “Once again, let’s reactivate our WINNING STRUCTURE!! This Saturday, September 28, 2 months after our tremendous victory, the Comanditos are activated in Swarm throughout Venezuela.” The opposition leader provided a series of guidelines for organizing the protest:

  1. Invite 40 or more people.
  2. Meet with them at 12 noon in a place that is as safe as possible.
  3. Read the results of 28J for your center, town, state and the country.
  4. Put our message so that everyone can hear it.
  5. Take photos and videos of the meeting with your commando and upload it to social networks using the hashtags #YoMeSumo and #VzlaLibre.
  6. Play the National Anthem very loudly.
  7. Return home energized and wait for new information!

The invitation from María Corina Machado

María Corina Machado added that “in this entire process, before and after the victory on July 28, the Comanditos were the key. Let’s show once again that we are organized, communicated and activated.” With this call, the opposition seeks to consolidate popular support and reaffirm the opposition’s commitment to the fight for democracy in Venezuela.

In Venezuela, there is a political crisis after the National Electoral Council proclaimed President Nicolás Maduro re-elected for a third six-year term and the opposition claimed, through voting records that it revealed, that its standard-bearer, Edmundo González, was the real winner of the elections.
