The Latam airline informed Venezuelan travelers that the Government of Nicolás Maduro has established new measures to enter that country. The person who does not fully comply with the requirements will not be admitted to the national territory.

Latam clarified that the changes They will be applied immediately, according to instructions from the Government of Venezuela.

What are the new regulations announced by Latam?


The new measures for Venezuelans who wish to enter their country through air travel are:

  1. Passengers must have their Venezuelan passport valid at the time of travel.
  2. If you do not have a valid Venezuelan passport, you must request a travel document from the Venezuelan Consulate or Embassy accredited abroad and register it with the airline at least 72 hours before boarding.
  3. Venezuelans with a Venezuelan identity card will not be allowed to board, even if it is valid.
  4. Those Venezuelan passengers who have dual nationality must present a valid Venezuelan passport. If the Venezuelan passport is expired, you will not be able to board even if you have your passport of your other valid nationality.

The airline also clarified that “passengers who have tickets purchased to fly between Bogotá and Caracas, between September 27 and October 1, can review free change or refund options in the section My Trips from Latam.com”.
