Country that is west of Colombia, but is not in America: famous island

Colombia has a diverse geography and a rich cultural history. It borders five countries, each of which contributes to the diversity and complexity of its borders.

Looking beyond Colombia’s immediate borders and across the great Pacific Ocean lies Japan, an island country in East Asia.

Japan is one of the countries closest to Colombia to the west that does not belong to the American continent. This relative proximity, although separated by thousands of kilometers of ocean, has allowed cultural and economic exchanges between both countries.

Japan is known for its rich history, advanced technology, and unique culture. It is an archipelago made up of four main islands: Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu and Shikoku, as well as numerous smaller islands. The capital, Tokyo, is one of the largest and most dynamic cities in the world.
