A 26-year-old young man lost his life after falling from a bridge while making content for his social networks. The events occurred in the municipality of Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, Spain, around 7:00 in the morning on October 13.

According to the authorities, the victim of the incident was an English citizen, whose identity has not been confirmed, who was climbing the bridge and fell accidentally.

The structure from which the British citizen fell is known as the Castilla – La Mancha bridge and it is the largest in Spain.
According to the Spanish digital media Readingsthe deceased was in the company of another 24-year-old young man and both had traveled to Talavera with the aim of climbing the structure and recording a video. This bridge has a height of 192 meters, at its highest point, making it the second highest in Europe.
“This disastrous and sad outcome is a reminder that climbing the bridge is completely prohibited, something that we have reiterated on many occasions”Talavera councilor Macarena Muñoz said in a statement.
The municipal authorities called on citizens and visitors not to risk their lives by climbing this bridge, as everything could end in tragic outcomes like that of the English citizen.
Young people risk their lives for a selfie
The accident has sparked a whole discussion on social networks about the risks that content creators expose themselves to in order to obtain views and reactions on their profiles.
According to the iO Foundation, in Spain, From 2008 to the present, more than 400 people have died trying to take photographs in extreme conditions. Most of the victims are young people under 24 years of age and one in three victims were tourists.
