They rescue 13 Colombian women in Spain, victims of labor exploitation: there are 8 detainees

The Spanish National Police carried out a decisive operation that culminated in the release of 13 Colombian women victims of labor exploitation.

The women, who had been lured to Spain with deceptive promises of employmentthey were working in inhumane conditions, taking care of older adults as interns and without any type of relief, which meant they were available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The victims had arrived in Spain as supposed tourists, but once they landed in Madrid, they were transferred to Seville, where they began to suffer systematic and severe exploitation.

According to authorities reports, the women were required to sign an acknowledgment of debt, which stipulated that they must make periodic payments to their captors. This control mechanism kept them trapped, since if they did not comply with the established payments, their families in Colombia were threatened.
