A truck crashes into a bus stop in Israel, leaving one dead and 30 injured

One person died and almost 30 were injured this Sunday after being hit by a truck at a bus stop outside a military base in Ramat Hasharon, in the center of Israelannounced the police and health services

According to the police, “a bus was dropping off passengers at a stop when a truck hit the bus and the passengers.”

“Civilians shot the driver and neutralized him,” the law enforcement officials added.

At midday the balance was 29 wounded, six of them in serious condition, Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, said in a statement. The previous balance was 24 injured.

The attack coincides with the Hebrew anniversary of the attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on October 7, 2023 in southern Israel, which triggered the current wars in Gaza and Lebanon.

On the other hand, in the occupied West Bank, A Palestinian was killed while trying to attack a group of Israeli soldiers with a knife in Hizma, north of Jerusalem, reported the Israeli army.

The man, whose identity was not communicated, “accelerated his vehicle in the direction of the soldiers who were carrying out an anti-terrorist operation in the Hizma region,” a military statement reported.

After that, “he got out of his vehicle with a knife and tried to stab” the military, who “eliminated” him, the Israeli forces added.
