Mother left her baby abandoned to go see a man she met on social networks

A young 25-year-old mother was arrested by authorities after police found her one-year-old baby abandoned in an apartment, while she went to meet a manwhom he met through social networks.

The events occurred on July 28 and the woman was arrested in Killeen, Texas, United States, on November 5. Reese Louise Myers is accused of abandonment and endangering her baby.

On the day of what happened, the Texas Police went to the West Hallmark house after a call from a neighbor to provide assistance to a small child, according to the digital media. KWTX. The person who called the authorities claimed that the child was hanging from a window and a dog was trying to attack him.

When authorities arrived at the house, they found a 16-month-old boy, who was dressed in a shirt, had feces on his body, and had signs of diaper rash.

The authorities verified that the child was in the house with two dogs. They also noted that the child’s mother would have made maneuvers to leave her baby without a babysitter such as closing all the doors, placing a baby gate in the kitchen area and keeping the doors and windows with locks.

Where was the baby’s mother?

After rescuing the minor, the authorities contacted Reese Louise Myers, the baby’s mother, who told them she was in San Antonio to meet a man she met on a dating app known as Hinge.

Additionally, Myers stated that he had contacted a babysitter on Facebook to take care of his son. Investigators in the case contacted the babysitter, who mentioned that she had taken care of the baby, but in December 2023, and that she had not heard from Myers since then.

Finally, the authorities took the statement of a woman, who stated that she knew Mayers, since she lived with her in October 2023. The complainant stated that the child’s mother used to leave her house, leave the child alone and return the next day. He even claimed that Mayers told him that the child would sleep all night in his absence.
