Although she was admitted to the hospital again, The elderly woman ended up dying in the early morning of December 8, just a couple of days after the incident.
The Antena 3 network stated that, after the unusual error, internal investigations were carried out to clarify the facts. Meanwhile, it was announced changing protocols and new medical tests to prevent this dangerous incident from happening again.
The forensic doctor Julia FernĆ”ndez commented to said news that the patient involved in the atypical case, due to her health condition, “I was almost dying, but I wasn’t dead, it’s not that I revived“.
The expert pointed out that this type of error can occur from time to time, but it is not a common situation, especially in a hospital where there are all the technical resources to confirm the death of a person.
Now, the family of the deceased will decide whether to take legal action against the hospital that provided the service for having declared the elderly woman dead prematurely.
