But that changed this Monday, when the United States Government finally gave explanations about the origin of these objects and whether or not they are a threat to that country.

What does the United States Government say?

The United States Government finally reported this Monday that The sightings that have garnered a lot of attention in recent days in New Jersey are a combination of legal drones, aircraft and starsand reiterated that they do not pose any threat to national security.

The spokesman for the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, pointed out in a telephone press conference that there are close to a million drones legally registered in the United States and that it is normal to see these devices in the sky.

“Sightings to date include a mix of legal commercial drones, hobby drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as planes, helicopters, and even stars that were mistakenly mistaken for drones,” he explained.

The spokesperson added that Authorities have “not identified anything anomalous or any risk to national or public security in the airspace of New Jersey or other northeastern states”.

Kirby acknowledged the criticism received in recent days for not having provided more information about this phenomenon and justified it by saying that the authorities wanted to have more data and an additional analysis of what happened.

The president-elect, Donald Trump, attacked this Monday in a press conference against the administration of the outgoing president, Democrat Joe Biden, by ensuring that federal authorities were hiding information about those sightings. “For some reason they want to keep people in suspense,” said the Republican, who joked that he might not spend the weekend at his New Jersey golf club.

It must be said that the Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States, Alejandro Mayorkas, tried to downgrade this Sunday concern about the growing sightings of drones in the northeast of the country, and reiterated that there are no known reports that threaten security. “Some of those sightings (…) are drones.
