“O enemy fired rocket launchers at Krementchuk. One was shot down by air defense forces. Unfortunately, civil infrastructures were affected”, said Dmytro Lunine, governor of the Poltava region, on the social network Telegram.
Early this morning, the head of the military administration of this region indicated that the Krementchuk oil refinery was hit in a missile attack, despite the “good work” of the air defenses.
“The unit’s activity is temporarily suspended”, he added, specifying that no casualties were immediately recorded.
The Russian military offensive on Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24 last year, plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since the Second World War (1939-1945).
Ukraine’s Western allies have supplied weapons to Kiev and approved successive sanctions packages against Russian interests to try to diminish Moscow’s ability to finance the war effort.
