Death toll from Israeli bombings rises to 22,700

O The new balance represents an increase of 122 deaths and 256 injuries in the last 24 hours.

The total number of injured in Gaza is now 58,166, according to the latest estimate, published by the Gaza Ministry of Health on the social network Facebook.

Sources from the Palestinian authorities in Gaza told the official Palestinian news agency Wafa that Israeli attacks in the last few hours hit the city of Zawaida, in the center of the Gaza Strip, and the city of Khan Younis (especially the neighborhood of Asdaa, in the west of this city in the south of the enclave).

In addition, witnesses cited by the Palestinian agency reported bombings in the Maghazi, Bureij and Nuseirat refugee camps.

The Israeli army launched an offensive against Gaza after the Hamas attacks on October 7, which, according to Tel Aviv, caused around 1,200 deaths, in addition to almost 240 people being kidnapped, of which more than 120 are still in captivity.

Israeli retaliation has destroyed most of Gaza’s infrastructure and close to two million people have been forced to leave their homes, almost all of the 2.3 million inhabitants of the enclave, controlled by Hamas since 2007.

The population of the Gaza Strip is also faced with an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, due to the collapse of hospitals, outbreaks of epidemics and shortages of drinking water, food, medicine and electricity.

Since October 7, more than 300 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli army and settler attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
