O The British Museum in London, UK, was closed this afternoon after climate activists and pro-Palestine activists joined forces to block entry to the historic building.
A new alliance between pro-Palestinian groups and a group linked to ‘Just Stop Oil’ – called ‘Energy Embargo for Palestine’ – targeted the historic building on Russell Street, in the English capital. It all happened around 2:15 pm.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at the museum’s main entrance on Russell Street and held up a banner that read: “Sponsored by BP = sponsored by colonial genocide.”
There were also Palestinian flags displayed as protesters chanted “shut down BP”.
