OThe three independentist parties that have had a majority in the autonomous parliament for 14 years and have come together to always make independentist governments viable, are expected to elect around 60 deputies this year. For an absolute majority, 68 are needed.
These are the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC, left, currently at the head of the regional government), Together for Catalonia (JxCat, right-wing) and the Popular Unity Candidacy (CUP, left-wing).
The Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC) is expected to surpass 40 deputies and will have the largest parliamentary group in the regional assembly. However, he will need agreements with other parties – government or parliamentarians – to gain power.
