Jams are sweets made with whole fruits or vegetables. They are a way of preserving fruits or vegetables to eat all year round.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of washed and peeled apples
  • 1 kg of sugar
  • 150 ml of water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 cups (tea) of water

Preparation Mode

  1. Place the peeled apples in the mixture of 2 cups (tea) of water with the juice of 2 lemons.
  2. In a pan, place the remaining ingredients and the drained apple.
  3. Bring to a boil and then reduce to low/minimum heat.
  4. Let it cook slowly for approximately 1 hour.
  5. After this time, remove the cinnamon stick.
  6. Place in a blender or blend in a mixer to obtain a puree.
  7. Bring to a low heat again until the sweet reaches the desired consistency.
  8. Remove and place in sterilized jars.

Mom’s Tips

The apples are left in the mixture of water and lemon juice so that they do not darken.

Serve the compote with vanilla ice cream.
