Ingredients

  • 1 package of pre-cooked lasagna noodles
  • 1 package of grated parmesan cheese
  • 500 grams of ham
  • 500 grams of mozzarella cheese
  • 150 grams of straw potatoes

Ingredients Filling

  • 800 grams of cleaned and cooked cod
  • ½ cup (tea) of olive oil
  • 4 tomatoes, skinned and seeded
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 100 grams of pitted green olives
  • 4 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs

Ingredients White Sauce

  • 2 cups (tea) of cream
  • 2 cups (tea) of milk
  • 4 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • Nutmeg to taste
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method Filling

  1. Cook the cod (already desalted) and then cut into small pieces. Set aside.
  2. Mix the breadcrumbs with the cornstarch and set aside.
  3. Sauté the garlic and onion in olive oil until golden.
  4. Add the cod and let it fry for a few more minutes.
  5. Add the tomato, olives and breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Stir gently until thickened.

How to Prepare White Sauce

  1. Over low heat, brown the flour in the butter.
  2. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, until you obtain a thick cream.
  3. Add the cream and season with nutmeg, salt and cheese.
  4. Cook for 3 minutes and set aside.

Assembly

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  2. In a large baking dish, place a layer of filling, one of lasagna noodles, one of ham, one of mozzarella, one of white sauce and finish with straw potatoes.
  3. Repeat the process.
  4. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for approximately 30 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven, remove the foil, cover with another layer of mozzarella and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  6. Place back in the oven for 10 minutes.

Mom’s Tips

Before serving, wait for the lasagna to cool a little so that it doesn’t fall apart when you cut it.
