O The verdict followed emotional testimony from Wandrea “Shaye” Moss and her mother, Ruby Freeman, who tearfully described being the target of a false conspiracy theory carried out by Rudy Giuliani and other Republicans to try to keep then President Donald Trump in power, after Ester lost the 2020 elections.

There was an audible sigh in the courtroom, according to the AP agency, when the judge determined the amount of compensation to be paid to the two women.

For his part, Rudy Giuliani showed no emotion when the verdict was read, after a 10-hour trial session.

At the end of the session, speaking to journalists, Rudy Giuliani’s lawyer said he would appeal the decision.

“The decision will be quickly reversed. The absurd amount will help with this decision”, he declared.

Trump and Giuliani are among 19 people accused in a case in which there is 41 evidence of a vast conspiracy to thwart the will of voters in Georgia, who chose Democrat Joe Biden over the Republican candidate for President of the United States.

The 13 charges against Giuliani, coupled with other legal troubles, mark the dramatic downfall of a man who was celebrated as “America’s mayor” after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack.
