The croque-monsieur has established itself as a classic of French cuisine. Quick, easy and economical, this recipe has it all, there’s no denying it. Moreover, we recently shared with you chef Christophe’s tips for making it to perfection. But today, we invite you to revisit the traditional preparation. In fact, we decided to replace the bread with… pancakes! An ideal recipe for brunch and much more delicious for the winter season. So we show you how to do it.
For this preparation, we decided to opt for ham and mozzarella, but know that you can adapt this recipe according to your tastes, by replacing the mozzarella with pieces of raclette cheese or with cheddar.
For a vegetarian version, replace the ham with a slice of butternut for example or with eggplant (frozen since the season has passed). Then, if you wish, you can add some aromatic herbs or spices to the croque. In short, let your imagination run wild.
