Donald Trump announces his first appointment: Susie Wiles will be his chief of staff in the White House

The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, appointed this Thursday his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as White House chief of staff, her first major appointment since winning the election.

“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected,” Trump said in a statement. “She will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again. It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first female chief of staff in the history of the United States,” he added.

Indeed, Wiles will be the first female chief of staff, one of the most important positions in the US Administration, which is responsible for coordinating the members of the presidential cabinet.

“Susie Wiles helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history and was an integral part of my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns,” Trump said in a statement.

“I have no doubt that he will make our country proud,” declared the New York magnate.

On Tuesday, when Trump offered his first election victory speech, the future president publicly thanked Wiles for his work during this time.

According to CNN, Wiles is credited with making this Republican’s latest campaign, his third after 2016 and 2020, the most “sophisticated and disciplined.”

A veteran of Florida politics, she ran Trump’s campaign in that state in 2016 and helped Ron DeSantis win Florida’s gubernatorial election in 2018.

According to Politico, Wiles has been his de facto chief of staff for more than three years and had a lot of influence in ensuring that the Republican nominee for President in these last elections was Trump and not DeSantis..
