A fake Colombian basketball team represented the country in an international tournament. The team’s resounding defeats exposed what had happened and the Colombian Basketball Federation filed a complaint.

The tricolor flag was raised high and the Colombian anthem was once again heard at a sporting event more than 12,000 kilometers away in Russia.
Everything was ready for the debut of the Colombian basketball team. The excited players sang the verses of the national anthem with their hands on their hearts.
The athletes were supposedly representing the professional team that faced BC Parma, a team from Russia’s top division, in the Friendship Cup.
After the initial whistle, the plays, baskets, shots, dribbles and defensive movements began.
However, something was not right: The pivot, the forward and the entire team did not revolve around the movements. Finally, the result in favor of the host team revealed that the Colombian players were not professional athletes and did not have the endorsement of the Colombian Basketball Federation.
This means that the team that played and lost 155 to 53 was fake and, based on the score, the Colombian Federation found out that it was being impersonated.
“FCB has never received a formal invitation to participate in the Friendship Cup in Russia. The Federation has not granted any club or training school in the country the right to participate in the cup. FCB will take legal action for the improper and unauthorized use of its image or logo.”the entity indicated.
Who are the players who replaced the Colombian basketball team?
According to international media, The team’s coach is Jorge Vásquez, who stated that the team was made up of professional players and students.
The person who would have hacked and organized the whole lie was number 6 on the team, Christian David Mosquera.
This man would have falsified emails and signatures from the FCB to play in this tournament with his friends, whose tickets, accommodation and travel expenses were paid for by the Russian Federation.
