Mom’s Tips
The jelly’s consistency – wooden spoon test: At first the jelly is thin and runny. Then it gets thicker and starts to fall in drops. When the jelly is ready, it falls in sheets.
Black grapes are rich in pectin. Pectin is what gives jelly its gelatinous (gel) appearance.
If you choose to use pectin, add 5 grams after boiling.
