1st Option
Ingredients
- 6 grapefruits
- 6 maraschino cherries (optional)
Preparation Mode
- Using a very sharp knife, peel the grapefruits without leaving any white skin.
- Separate the whole segments with a knife, over a plate (to collect the juice), also removing the skin that covers them.
- Squeeze the residue to extract all the broth and add it to the juice on the plate.
- Distribute the grapefruit segments into glasses.
- Drizzle with the collected juice and leave in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- Garnish with cherries.
- If you prefer, sprinkle with sugar when serving.
Mom’s Tips
Grapefruit: also known as jamboa, watermelon orange, pamplemousse, red orange, pomegranate orange, among other names.
You can find grapefruit at street markets or the Municipal Market in your city.
Yields approximately 6 servings.
