Fondant Decoration

Ghosts: Cut out circles of fondant and shape them. You can place fondant, candy or even cake underneath the shapes (of the ghosts) to support the ghosts. Cut out small circles of black fondant for the eyes.

Bats can be made from fondant and placed on the cake if you prefer. You can also make bats from black cardboard to decorate the room and table.

For bats and ghosts, use commercial or homemade white and black fondant. If you use homemade fondant, add a little CMC to the fondant to make it firmer. Keep the fondant you are not using wrapped in plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out.

The cake should be kept in the refrigerator because it is covered with whipped cream. Fondant does not tolerate humidity in the refrigerator, so place the ghosts/bats on the cake only after they are completely dry and only when serving.

Mom’s Tips

If you prefer, after filling the cake, you can spread your favorite fruits over the filling.

The whipped cream can be industrialized or homemade.
