QFour people died following a “tragic” hot air balloon accident in Eloy, Arizona, in the United States, on Sunday morning.

According to the Eloy police, who released a statement, a fifth person is in critical condition.

The balloon crashed at around 7:50 am (local time), in a deserted area.

The causes of the accident are unknown and are being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, which were at the scene.

Police offered their “deepest condolences to the families and friends of those involved in this heartbreaking incident.”
