O The rebels’ military spokesman, Yahya Sarea, detailed in a statement that the attack in the Indian Ocean targeted the North American ship ‘Largo Desert’, an oil tanker flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, and the Israeli ‘MSC Michela’, a container ship with the Portuguese flag.

He also mentioned an attack in the Red Sea against the boat ‘Minerva Lisa’, another oil tanker, this one flying the Liberian flag, which he accused of “violating the ban” announced by the rebels on docking in Israeli ports.

Regarding the attack on US ships, also in the Red Sea, Sarea indicated that the action “was successful”, but did not detail the results, nor the weapons used.

He also reiterated that operations against commercial vessels sailing in international waters will continue “until the aggression ends and the harassment of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip ends.”

Last week, the rebels claimed to have launched missiles against the ship ‘Essex’, in what was their first attack in Mediterranean waters, accused of having an Israeli port as its final destination.

Since November 19, the Huthis have launched more than a hundred attacks in the Red Sea, in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which caused severe disruptions in international maritime trade and provoked a military intervention in Yemen by the USA and the United Kingdom.
