A mother of Mohamed A., the 30-year-old inmate who is on the run after the prison van he was traveling in was the target of a deliberate ambush in the Eure region, France, revealed that she was devastated by what happened.
“I broke down, I cried – I was so bad – how can lives be taken like this?”began by stating, in an interview with French broadcaster RTL, about the attack that caused the death of two prison guards.
The mother also described her son’s life in the prison system, saying that he was “dragged from one place to another, that they put him in isolation instead of condemning him once and for all.”
The woman also added that she went to visit him in several prisons where he was, but that her son “never revealed anything”. “He doesn’t talk to me. He’s my son, but he doesn’t talk to me about anything. I don’t understand”he added.
It is recalled that two prison guards were killed and two others were left in critical condition, after being shot this morning during an attack on the prison van where they were traveling. The incident took place at a toll in Incarville, in the Eure region.
The alert was given at around 11 am (local time) and two vehicles were involved in the escape, as well as an inmate. At issue would be the objective of releasing the prisoner transported at the time of the incident.
One of the cars, a white Audi A5, was discovered burnt out in the city of Vatteville. The second, a BMW 5 series, fled in the direction of Louviers and Evreux.
A hunt for Mohamed A., better known as ‘La Mouche’, is underway. “All forces are mobilized to detain the prisoner,” a police source told Le Figaro.
The suspect is 30 years old and was arrested on a charge of robbery and for being suspected of “attempted murder in an organized group” in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray. Born in 1994, the inmate would also be the leader of a drug trafficking network.
