Ingredients

  • 6 oranges
  • ½ cup (tea) of apricot jam
  • ½ cup (tea) of confectioner’s sugar
  • ½ cup (tea) of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 egg whites

Preparation Mode

  1. Clean the oranges.
  2. Remove the top from each orange.
  3. If you prefer to use the orange peels, coat them in powdered sugar and place in the freezer.
  4. Carefully remove the pulp from the oranges and squeeze, saving the juice.
  5. Fill the oranges with 1 tablespoon of apricot jam.
  6. Refrigerate.
  7. Prepare the ice cream by mixing the orange juice, lemon juice, sugar and 1 cup (tea) of water well.
  8. Bring to a boil and let it boil until you get a thick syrup.
  9. Beat the egg whites until stiff, add them to the hot syrup, little by little, without stopping beating, until you get a cream.
  10. Put it in the freezer.
  11. Stir a few times so that it freezes evenly.
  12. Assemble the dish, filling the oranges with ice cream.
  13. Put the lid on and serve immediately.

Mom’s Tips

It can be served with or without the orange tops previously prepared.

Serve as a dessert.
