O The Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) Military Information Department revealed on Tuesday that the Israeli army had “sufficient signs” about a possible Hamas attack on October 7 and should have taken preventive measures.
These are the preliminary results of the investigation, which were presented on Monday to the Chief of the General Staff, Herzi Halevi, according to a report by the Israeli channel Channel 12.
Apparently, there was enough evidence “to connect the dots” and “turn on the warning lights”, but nothing was done.
The investigation now seeks to determine responsibility and correct the errors within the Israeli army that allowed this attack that sparked an armed war in the Gaza Strip.
It is worth remembering that the October 7 attack by Hamas in southern Israel caused around 1,200 deaths, most of them civilians, and more than two hundred hostages, according to Israeli authorities, who responded with a military offensive in Gaza that Hamas claims has already caused at least 37,925 deaths in the enclave.
