Passionate about his profession, Norbert Tarayre is on all fronts. After having hosted various culinary shows on television, the former candidate of Top Boss revealed his brand new project. In June 2023, the latter was chosen to take over the helm of 19.20, the Prince of Wales’ restaurant in Paris. A real turning point in the chef’s career. Norbert Tarayre immediately decided to put an end to his participation in the jury of The Best Bakery. “I had to put La Meilleure Boulangerie on hold because the project is such (the Prince of Wales’s restaurant, editor’s note) that I cannot spread myself too thin”, started Norbert Tarayre against Damien Canivez. Indeed, according to the chef, even if “The Best Bakery is a very nice show”this one took him “80% of [son] temps”. A difficult organization for him to manage. “It was a constraint with my children. I couldn’t leave like that anymore. I used to be able to do it but it still cost me a marriage. I didn’t want to repeat the same thing”did he declare.
To replace him, the production of the famous television competition chose chef Michel Sarran. “It is with great honor and immense pleasure that I join this beautiful program which highlights French terroir, craftsmanship and heritage. I can’t wait to meet up with Bruno and Noëmie and meet passionate bakers and pastry chefs who are constantly innovating”, he commented in a press release. A lovely experience which therefore marks its return to our television screens.
