US Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday stressed the the need for the war in Gaza to end immediately, while his rival in the November 5 elections, former President Donald Trump, called his position weak. and hinted that under his rule Israel would disappear.

“Too many innocent Palestinians have been killed. What we do know is that this war must end. It must end immediately. And to do that we need a ceasefire agreement and the hostages out. We will continue to work on that,” said the Democratic candidate in the first presidential debate between the two, held in Philadelphia.

The Democratic government has shown firm support for the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip invoking Israel’s right to defend itself, although over time he has been at odds with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the high number of civilian casualties and the blockade of humanitarian aid.

Harris has maintained the same position as her Executive, assuring that she will always defend Israel’s right to defend itself and stressing that, Together with Joe Biden, he is working to “end the war in Gaza” and to achieve the two-state solution.

In your opinion, Trump is “weak and wrong” in foreign policy matters.

The Republican tycoon is not a standard-bearer for the Palestinian cause and when he was in the White House (2017-2021) decided to push for normalization of relations between Israel and its Arab neighbors, leaving aside the two-state solution.

On Tuesday night, he warned of the consequences of a possible Harris mandate: “If she is president, Israel will not exist within two years. I’m pretty good at making predictions and I hope I’m not wrong about that,” he said.
