Man who had been presumed dead woke up minutes before being cremated

A 25-year-old Indian woke up moments before being cremated, after an autopsy had not been performed, a medical official confirmed to AFP last Saturday.

Rohitash Kumar, who had speech and hearing difficulties, fell ill and was transferred last Thursday to Jhunjhunu hospital in Rajasthan, northern India.

Indian media reported that The young man had suffered an epileptic seizure and a doctor had declared his death upon his arrival at the hospital.

The hospital’s chief medical officer, D. Singh, explained to AFP that a doctor had “prepared the post-mortem report without performing the autopsy, and that The body had later been sent for cremation.”

He added that “shortly before” his cremation, “the body began to move” and that the man “was alive and breathing.”

Kumar was taken to hospital again, where he finally died last Friday.

Three doctors were suspended and the police opened an investigation, the Times of India and other media in the country reported.

Julio Alberto Vinicio Pierre, 27 years old, is the protagonist of this curious story. The young man had been declared dead hours earlier in a city hospital due to lung problems. But, his family assured that The true cause of his death is supposed to be witchcraft.

“He sat on the coffin, blinked and grabbed a relative’s hands. “He is breathing and that is the proof, the mirror, in addition to the fact that he ate what we gave him,” his relatives told a local media.

Seeing that the man was breathing and had miraculously been resurrected, his loved ones “They made the decision to take him out of the coffin and move him to one of the rooms in his house.”
