What happened to Microsoft and why does it affect airports, banks and other companies?
A faulty update to the CrowdStrike cybersecurity platform caused a massive failure of Microsoft services, affecting various sectors worldwide. This disruption caused operating systems to get stuck in a reboot state, preventing them from functioning normally.
As a result, Airports experienced flight delays and cancellations, banks faced problems with transactions and account access, and other businesses, including hospitals and utilities, also experienced significant disruptions to their operations. Microsoft is working to roll back the update and fix the issues caused.
