Miracle in the midst of fires in California: images of the Virgin of Guadalupe survived

The fires that have occurred in the state of California, United States, in recent days have the entire continent in suspense, as they have not only devastated at least 15,000 hectares, they have also destroyed 12,000 structures, including vehicles and homes.

In Altadena, located in Los Angeles County, firefighters and search and rescue teams inspect both the burned houses and the hot spots of the conflagrations to identify if there are human remains, since the number of deaths in Palisades y Eatonin Changedhas risen to 25, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner and Sheriff Robert Luna.

In the midst of the gloom, a light appeared for a family that lost their home, where they lived for 35 years. Although they saw how all their efforts were turned into ashes, among the rubble three images of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles shared the images of ‘At Morenita’, as they affectionately call ‘The Patron Saint of Mexico‘. The first of them, which is the largest statue, is located at the entrance of the house.

The second image that was shared is a Saint Joseph holding the Baby Jesus. This statue only turned out a slightly darker color.

The other two images of the Virgin of Guadalupe suffered the same fate as the previous statues, as they were only slightly burned on the face and chest.

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles explained that “the devastating #EatonFire reduced the family home of 35 years to ashes, leaving behind a statue of the Virgin MarySaint Joseph cradling the Baby Jesus, icons of the Blessed Mother and tiles of the #CaliforniaMissions.” The tiles he refers to are from several churches.

Netizens reacted to this post with comments like: “As always, she is here for us. Mom”, “Holy Mother of God, you always hear our prayers”, “Mary, mother of God, pray for us. Father God, Jesus Christ, protect us” and “My God, it doesn’t even look smoked. Always present covering his children.”
