UA US air base in Syria was targeted by a missile attack on Tuesday.
According to what two officials explained to Reuters, the missiles were launched towards this base, but did not hit the structure, which is located in the Conoco natural gas field.
Earlier today, a source told the news agency that Iranian-backed militias had launched explosive-capable projectiles toward the base. The same source said that all of them had landed near the structure.
The attack was responded to with artillery fire.
According to the Al Mayadeen television channel, which is backed by Iranian forces, US warplanes flew overhead after the attack on the camp, which is located in the province of Deir al-Zor.
ConocoPhillips told Reuters it was aware of some damage to a base in Syria, but said its assets in the country were divested in the early 2000s.
