AAuthorities rescued a boat, about 15 kilometers east of the capital of the Canaries, where 42 people were traveling.

Previously, another 103 migrants had been rescued from two precarious boats, who were also transferred to Lanzarote.

Data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, released on Monday, indicate that between January 1st and December 15th, more than 51,700 people entered Spain irregularly, using precarious boats, the highest number in the last five years.
