FOfficials from Switzerland, which is organizing the meeting, also stated that the Presidents of Cuba, Venezuela or Nicaragua, Latin American countries considered close to Russia, would not travel to the Swiss country.

Today, the ultra-liberal Argentine President, Javier Milei, confirmed his presence at the event, which will take place in Bürgenstock (center of the country).

In total, 160 States received an invitation to participate in the event, in which the presence of the President of the USA, Joe Biden, is admitted, who in the previous days will be in neighboring Italy to participate in the G7 summit.

The Chinese Government, which recently strengthened its relations with Russia following President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Beijing, has not yet indicated whether it intends to participate in the Conference.

The Russian Government was not invited, prompting harsh criticism from the Putin Government. Moscow has pointed out that without its participation no progress towards a political solution to the war in Ukraine will be possible.

The event was coordinated with the Government of Ukraine, which requested Switzerland to organize the initiative and follows the first international conference in mid-2022 on the reconstruction of Ukraine after the end of the war.

The Bürgenstock hotel complex is located on a promontory, an area accessible via a single road and easy to isolate within the scope of the strict security measures that will be adopted.
