“I like to make simple cakes at home, which don’t take too much time […] and that you can eat again the next day for breakfast”launches Cyril Lignac on the airwaves of RTL. This time, the French favorite chef offers us an easy and quick recipe for soft apple cake. In his favorite version, the host of All in the Kitchenadds a tangy touch that perfects this sweet preparation. His tip? “Roll the apple with a little lemon […] so that inside it will desweeten the cake a little and it will give a little tangy taste”, he explains. And to enjoy its flavors as long as possible, Cyril Lignac warns: “never in the fridge the cake”. Here is the procedure to follow to make this recipe that will please both children and parents.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 30 minutes

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Remove the skin from the apples and cut them into slices, then into sticks and then into small almost chopped cubes. Gently stir all ingredients in the order listed. Pour the dough into a buttered mold measuring 9 cm by 13 cm.
  2. In a salad bowl, add the sugar, cinnamon and melted butter to make the filling and mix.
  3. Sprinkle everything over the dough. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve with honey butter. A delight!

Pink Lady, Reines des Reinettes, Golden ou Belles de Boskoop… Cyril Lignac recommends using the apples of your choice. So you don’t have “no excuses” not to try this dessert.
